*Before reading the story, tell the class that they will be retelling the important events at the end of the reading. Read the story, then line up 5-6 students. Ask the first student to tell the first important event, the second student to retell the next important event, etc. The students listening should raise their hands if an event is left out or told out of order. Since everyone likes to get involved, repeat this lesson the following week choosing 5-6 different students to retell the story. |
